A comfortable couch, a blanket over our legs, a cup of warm tea and a list full of good suggestions. Thus, are gathered the perfect conditions for an amazing christmas time!

2020 has been a complicated year, with restrictions, loss and suffering. However, it has also been a year of opportunities. The opportunity to start the diet we always say we will do at the beginning of the new year, but that we never do, to workout, to try new recipes, new relaxing activities such as yoga, pilates and meditation, or a new project like we did.
With all of that in mind, we picked six suggestions for this Christmas.
1. A Movie.

The Holiday is a romantic comedy from 2006, with Kate Winslet, Jack Black, Eli Wallach, Cameron Diaz and Jude Law. Amanda Woods and Iris Simpkins are two women that have something in common: they both had their hearts broken and need a change of scenery. That 's when they meet through the Internet and decide to swap houses during the Christmas’ time, which means Amanda will live in Iris’ house and vice-versa. And from that point, anything can happen! Even though it’s an older movie, we believe it is still perfect for this time of the year, for it speaks about relationships, self-love, friendship and learning. And the soundtrack? It’s just superb!
2. A Tv Show.

The Queen 's Gambit is a mini-series from this year that is the premiere of Anya Taylor-Joy as the main protagonist. The work has been receiving good reviews and it tells the story of Beth Harmon, an orphan with a natural talent for chess, that seeks to become the world champion in chess while struggling with emotional issues and drug addiction. Might not be the most Christma-cy show but it’s very interesting and a good option in case you haven’t watched it.
3. A Book.

Letters from Father Christmas is a wonderful book written by the author of The Lord of the Rings trilogy. Every year, in December, J. R. R. Tolkien 's children got a written letter with a very colorful drawing. They were from Santa Claus. This book is a compilation of these letters written by Tolkien to his children, where he describes the amazing life from the North Pole and the adventures that the man with the white beard and red suit goes on along with the Polar Bear and the little helpers in order to prepare for Christmas. It’s a very cozy work that is charming for every age.
4. A Manga.

Honey & Clover, is a manga from 2000 that counts with ten volumes. It’s a bit old, it' s true, but the story is interesting and approaches current subjects. Takemoto, Mayama, Morita, Hagumi and Yamada are a group of friends from college that, throughout the plot, go through a lot of experiences together that make them question their place in the world. It’s a very sweet and comical manga, that touches subjects such as love, friendship, the first job, finding life’s purpose and personal knowledge.
5. An Anime

Kokoro Connect is our anime choice. Premiered in 2012, it also talks about a group of friends, members of a school club, that one day experience a supernatural event. From that moment on, their connection with each other is tested. It’s another not-so-recent choice but that evoques self-love, self knowledge, friendship, first love and the overcoming of their fears.
6. A Drama.

The Last Cinderella is a japanese drama from 2013, with Ryoko Shinohara, Haruma Miura and Naohito Fujiki. This drama talks about Sakura, a 39 year-old single woman, that works in a beauty salon and is afraid of falling in love. One day, at a party, she meets Hiroto, who is much younger than her and, from that moment, her life turns emotionally upside down. This is a drama with a few comical moments, that makes us realise how important it is to be honest with our feelings and towards others. A short and excellent drama to watch in the colder days, that is also a way to see again the actor, Haruma Miura, that unfortunately left us this year.
And that is how we reach the end. Did you like our suggestions? Do you have others? Leave them in the comment section.
From our part, we wish you a merry christmas, filled with love, friendship and peace, with a lot of health, joy and sweets too! It will be, very likely, a different christmas for the majority, but let’s not allow this atypical year to take away the smile from our faces and our hopes for better times. Protect yourself! And be well!
🎵 Have yourself a merry little Christmas Let your heart be light From now on Our troubles will be out of sight.🎵
